Games I’m Playing
Preparing for the postgraduate entrance exam means I barely have time for games now. At this point I only have two electronic potted plants left: Blue Archive and Star Resonance Traveler.
- Blue Archive (Global): Noa is my top favorite, and I like Nagisa a lot too.
- Star Resonance Traveler: Yostar’s masterpiece of a new release. It copies Blue Archive in every direction, charges absurdly hard, asks 300 per pull, uses a MiHoYo-style banner setup, is stingy, sells multiple monthly cards, locks progression behind stamina, has raid content, random affixes, and all in all feels like a giant pile of garbage.
- Battlefield: mainly Battlefield 1 and
Battlefield V. Battlefield 1 is still the king of kings and never gets old. I played the beta for Battlefield 6 too. It was fun, but I don’t have time for it right now. - Red Dead Redemption 2
- It Takes Two play with a male classmate (:з」∠)
- POPUCOM too
- NUKITASHI (a true masterwork of absurdism)
- A Sky Full of Stars
- Muse Dash: terrible at rhythm games, still happily mashing away on keyboard
Granblue Fantasy: Relink(main story cleared)- Ori and the Blind Forest (already cleared Ori and the Will of the Wisps)
- Wuthering Waves
- Version 3.1 is, in my view, the current high point for story presentation in gacha games. I’d put it at about one-third of Interstellar. On that basis, I’m willing to take back my earlier slander about the previous two versions being dumpling-making family roleplay with forced ML bait.
- What it urgently needs now is optimization. It’s 130GB on PC, 60GB on Android, an RTX 2050 can barely handle 2K on the lowest settings, and ever since Rinascita, any scene with dense vegetation stutters like hell.
- Black Myth: Wukong: it feels like a four-year relationship,
getting married tomorrowalready married, waiting for DLCnow waiting for Black Myth: Zhong Kui. Game Science, a good game deserves careful polishing, but please also hurry up. - Counter-Strike 2: seriously, really. It’s still a blast when I play with my roommates.
- Arknights: Endfield
- The story is a huge steaming mess, the banner design is full of tiny “clever” touches that annoy everyone, and the post-apocalyptic setting is packed with childish conflicts and stiff emotional payoffs. As for the many bugs served up by the tiny-cup programmers and planners, thank heaven they don’t interfere too much with my cable-laying.
- That said, I genuinely like the combat design. You can tell from the wildly varied comps and guides on Bilibili and Xiaoheihe that this isn’t like late-stage Honkai Impact 3rd, where meta units decide everything, nor is it like Wuthering Waves, where flashy design still collapses into rigid DPS rotation charts. Every team can find ways to handle plating or harder content, even lightning teams.
Gacha Games I’ve Quit but Still Want to Mention
- I originally wrote a lot here about MiHoYo games. I have to admit they really did bring me joy and emotion once. But all of that is over now, and it ended far too quickly. Life has its dreams, and everyone shines in their own way.
- Arknights
- I’m not into tower defense, and I don’t like the art style either. I barely played it, so I don’t have much to say.
- In a very comedic move, I bought Hypergryph’s Ex Astris. I’ll wait for it to get optimized a bit more and then see whether it’s playable for me.
- Good news: 觉醒波 still hasn’t run away. They’ve already optimized it twice. I’ll play it when it’s ready.
- Azur Lane
- Honestly a decent game. The gameplay is below average, and the art is fine, but the proportions are too exaggerated for my taste.
- Waiting for Ananta & Wangyue & Blue Starfield: Ballad of Travel & Silver Palace & Virtual Ring (
just here for the chaosthough some of them may already look half dead, sadly)
To Be Continued
So yes, I’m basically a dumb otaku thoroughly poisoned by the Simplified Chinese internet, the sort of person who watches everything and knows a little about everything, though not much.
I like tinkering with electronics, I’m good at surfing the web, and I collect all kinds of proper or improper precious study materials.

When will I have a drink and discuss the details again?
